Kevin Barry Mc Dermott has extensive experience in literally hundreds of criminal trials and grand jury and other criminal investigations for matters ranging from homicide to the most complex white-collar or business crimes. Kevin is recognized as one of the most prominent criminal and military lawyers in the United States today and has been frequently honored by his peers, most recently as "Lawyer of the Year" award conferred by the Los Angeles Criminal Courts Bar Association in 2009, an honor conferred upon only the best and brightest lawyers in Southern California.

For the past 30 years, Kevin has participated in numerous criminal investigations of national significance to include TailHook, and Los Angeles County Sheriffs Majors as well as some of the most significant and long ranging military war crimes investigations, Hadithah and Fallouja.

His approach to any criminal matter is first to keep it from going criminal in the first place. If an indictment nevertheless happens, however, he tries cases. His willingness and experience trying cases are often powerful allies in keeping his clients from being charged at all.

This firm focuses on sophisticated and complex business litigation and has experience with contract disputes, insurance coverage, business fraud, trade secrets, accountant and insurance broker negligence, defective technology, employment and other areas of civil disputes. Prior to associating with Godes & Preis, LLP, Kevin has been lead counsel in excess of 50 civil Trials to include plaintiffs personal injury, Federal Tort Claims Act and Uniformed Services, and Employment and Reemployment Rights Act.
